There seems to be almost an inordinate amount of interest in regards to GIDIFA and “the arts” or fields of study wherein arts and crafts are a matter of much more interest than was originally foreseen. While it was never fully understood just how important the arts are to so many people, rest assured that plans had already been made to introduce a very large segment of the formerly underclass citizens to the arts even to the extent of doing so in a much more sustainable and natural fashion. What’s more is the ability to utilize this introduction to the arts or perhaps more accurately, this refinement of the arts in such a way that those, especially among the indigenous peoples of the world, do not have to give up their ancestral homes or move if they do not wish to.
Whether by nature or by design, it is difficult to imagine that humans were intended to go through life without the benefit of enjoyment. The wide range of foods, musical genres, arts and even crafts can bring all manner of joy to people in many inexplicable ways and seem to reaffirm the fact that humans were in fact, meant to enjoy life. Unfortunately, a very wide swathe of humanity has been denied that benefit and has been forced to live in squalor and poverty despite the vast amount of resources available in the world today. Despite this, many of the indigenous and native people of the world are still able to create some of the most stunning artwork in so many forms. From music to fabric and clothes to knick-knacks to some truly amazing and very innovative forms of tools, the artwork in the case of GIDIFA, can be promoted in all of the individual Community Developments in addition to being available for sale online. While the corporations may grant some seventy percent of their earnings, the sales of the Arts and Crafts by the Indigenous and Underclass citizens of the world will be largely returned to the individual artists and their communities and to buy those supplies that cannot be grown or otherwise developed within the Community Developments.
Paints, tints and dyes will be natural and made from all organic materials. This is actually not going to be any real transition for a great many of the indigenous peoples of the globe other than the fact that they will likely have to be farmed in order to sustain the levels of production that it is expected to require for the amounts being sold in such an increased market place. With well over two hundred million members now and over seven hundred million more soon to be included, the marketplace should be able to produce a very large increase in sales for the arts and crafts being produced. As more and more Integrated Community Developments are opened up there will be an even better logistics support system in place and GIDIFA should be able to absorb the costs of shipping in addition to being able to deliver new products to new locations all over the world. There may however, be some other changes that take place as well.
A great deal of the environmental work of the Global Infrastructure, Development and International Finance Agency is handled with the selective use of plants such as juke and other fibrous materials and trees. One of the most popular trees for these efforts is the Paulownia Tree. The wood from the Paulownia trees has been used for literally thousands of years in China and Japan for everything from arts and crafts like small knick knacks to musical instruments to fancy (and more plain) furniture to the construction of entire homes. The lumber from the Paulownia trees does have some unique properties though, and as such it may be that experts from around the globe may be brought in to work in cooperation with the native and indigenous peoples so that they can continue doing much the same work as they always have but do it in a more sustainable and perhaps even more creative fashion.
The wood from the Paulownia Tree, much like the tree itself, is very unique in a great many fascinating ways. It is one of the primary resources for the sustainable lumber programs of GIDIFA because like the banana tree, when it is chopped down, it grows right back leaving the roots in place and helping with environmental reforestation, reclamation, restoration and even disaster mitigation. Additionally, the tree thrives on “toxic” nitrates left over from over-fertilization of the farms and fields. Using the trees as a “break”, “berm” or “hedge” in and around farms can help to greatly reduce the unhealthy levels of nitrates in the soils and has been shown to aid in the increase of crop production. Further benefit can be derived from the fact that the leaves are highly protein-ous and have been shown to increase the birth weight and the growth rate of livestock in addition to increasing the number and quality of egg production in fowl. As if all that were not quite enough to earn this tree the title of “the tree of life”; add in the quality and strength and workability of the wood and this really is an amazing addition to any tract of land.
The wood from the Paulownia tree is surprisingly pliable and workable when it is freshly cut. The Chinese and the Japanese have used this to their benefit for the purposes of creating all manner of arts and crafts. Many of the intricate designs on the knick knacks and other arts and crafts from these Asian nations are made while the wood is still wet. However, once the wood dries, it becomes exceptionally hard. The wood can be air-dried without curling or splitting. It can be bent, nailed and screwed without splitting. It does very well on lathes, drills and other machines. The color of the wood is blonde and it has a very unique appearance. It is also naturally resistant to termites and when kept off the ground, is highly resistant to rot as well. With an ignition temperature over four-hundred degrees some people call it fire resistant as most hard woods have an ignition point right around two hundred degrees. It also has an amazing thermal quality that makes it excellent for insulating, thus making it an excellent choice for home construction as well. All things being equal, it is truly an exceptional wood for all manner of arts, crafts and even construction.
If there is any negative issue at all from the Paulownia Tree, its growth must be closely managed as it is (rightfully) considered to be an Invasive Species in many locations. With a growth rate of over twenty feet per year in some locations, it can quickly get out of hand. Proper management and containment of the growth areas must be kept up or the species will overtake and often destroy local ecosystems. As long as its growth and maintenance is properly managed however, it truly does live up to its moniker as the tree of life.
