United Nation's Global Infrastructure Development & International Financing Agency recently awarded Mobile's Volkert Inc. with a contract to assist in building homes and communities in and around the Philippines.

A Mobile-based company was awarded a program management contract on a massive project to develop more than three million homes in and around the Philippines.

The humanitarian project is one of three that Volkert, Inc.'s Global Design and Engineering Firm was awarded last month by the United Nation's Global Infrastructure Development & International Finance Agency (GIDIFA).

The safe and secure houses will be built within communities along indigenous lands. Poor and indigent people will be employed to build the housing as well as new medical and educational facilities, entertainment venues and sports and intramural facilities. Further venues for entertainment include a water-park/underwater-park, a theme park and an entertainment and shopping complex.

Volkert was also named project manager on two other projects totaling $7.3 billion. The work ranges from developing clean water and waste water management programs to solar projects, port expansion and solar field development.

"We are excited about these projects and very appreciative to have an opportunity to participate in developing the infrastructure in these much needed humanitarian efforts," said Jerry Stump, president & CEO of Volkert Global. "We look forward to working with our partners toward the successful delivery of these very important projects."

Volkert Global is a subsidiary of Volkert Inc., an employee-owned firm with a staff of 800 partners, multi-disciplinary engineers, construction engineers, environmental specialists, program/construction managers, real estate specialists and landscape architects. The company, founded in 1925, has offices in 12 states and is headquartered in Mobile Alabama.

The Projects are funded by GIDIFA in cooperation with the United Nations utilizing funds that have been set aside specifically for the implementation of Humanitarian projects and programs. GIDIFA is a wholly non-partisan agency/organization that does not rely on taxpayer and/or government funding. Rather,

GIDIFA focuses on programs that were initially established in conjunction with the Bretton Woods Agreement with one major difference. The Bank for International Settlements was established as a temporary economic system for the transition from a wartime to a peacetime economy and the establishment of the requisite infrastructure and development for the restoration of nations and the median quality of life of those adversely impacted by the war.

GIDIFA has expanded the original programs in close cooperation and with the support of the UN and UN Member Nations to create a wholly sustainable and permanent program to fully eradicate poverty without doing so at the expense of the producers and without any undue, partisan political influence. GIDIFA has activated its Financial Division as a means to implement a supplemental economic and financial system to work in cooperation and to stabilize the current economic and financial systems and prevent the need for warfare as an economic tool to create economic reform.

The GIDIFA programs have been in development as we work hand-in-hand with the United Nations to prevent the need for nations to go to war again. This is accomplished through the implementation of these new, supplemental economic and financial programs directly for the benefit of the people of the world. With the current war drums beating so loudly between Russia, China, the US and the UK, a major increase in Global economic growth and development seems to be the surest means of preventing open warfare among the super powers of the world.

GIDIFA has also begun negotiating and signing contracts with the UN member nations for the construction of one million homes in Community Developments to be built in another joint cooperation by and between Volkert (among other Contractors and sub-contractors), the United Nations and GIDIFA in support of those nations that will refrain from entering into any armed conflict and to ensure the economic and social freedom of people everywhere.
